Grain End is one of the cottages at Granary Farm, up on the North Yorkshire Moors. It's detached, so you're on your own. The gardens are big and they're shared with the other cottages, but there's plenty of space.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. The doors are a bit low in places, mind you.
You're about a mile from Sawdon village. There's a pub there. For shops, you'll need to go a bit further to Brompton or Snainton. Brompton has a good butchers.
You can walk or cycle straight out into the forest from the garden gate. The North York Moors National Park is right there. It's good for birdwatching. The skies get properly dark at night too.
Scarborough and Whitby are about half an hour's drive. Pickering, with its steam railway, is twenty minutes. Malton's a bit less. Castle Howard is maybe twenty-five minutes. York is under an hour if you fancy a day trip.
In the cottage there's a wood burner, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Wi-Fi, though it's the countryside so don't expect miracles. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. You can bring one dog.
