The main thing about it is the garden. It's a really big, enclosed garden, with plenty of colour. There's a seating area out there. Inside, there's a wood-burning stove. There is one step into the property, but the inside is level, so it might work if you have limited mobility, but the bathroom is upstairs. There's a stairgate and a cot available.
You can walk to the village pub. It's a friendly place. For food shopping, Pickering is about a ten-minute drive. It's a nice market town and that's where you can get the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train. It goes through the national park to Whitby.
By car, you're about twenty minutes from the coast at Scarborough. It's a classic seaside town with a long promenade, a castle, and Peasholm Park. Filey is a bit further, maybe thirty minutes, and has a quieter, sandy beach.
The North York Moors National Park starts a few miles away. For a bigger day out, York is under an hour's drive. The property listing says it's wheelchair accessible at the entrance, but you'd need to check the full details if that's important for your group.
