Old Maltongate Farm Cottage

Old Maltongate Farm Cottage is on the edge of Thornton le Dale in North Yorkshire. It's detached, sits right by a stream, and has its own garden.

The cottage is small but it sleeps four. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one king and one twin, and one bathroom with a shower over the bath. The stairs are steep and narrow, just so you know. The whole place was done up in 2021, so it's in good order. It's got a 4 Star rating.

Downstairs, there's a living room with a wood burner. The kitchen has a range cooker, a big fridge freezer, and a utility room with a washing machine. There's also a downstairs toilet.

You can bring one dog. We provide bedding and towels. There's parking on the drive.

In the village, there's a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and some tea rooms. It's a five minute walk to the duck pond and the main street.

Pickering is about three miles away. That's where you get the North York Moors Railway steam trains. Dalby Forest is ten minutes by car, good for walking and biking. The coast at Scarborough or Whitby is about half an hour's drive. York is 40 minutes if you fancy a city day.

For local information, the North York Moors National Park website is useful.
