This is Farndale, in Pickering. It's one of the Hungate Cottages. You share the main gardens and orchard with the other properties, but you have your own private patio area too.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The owners, Mike and Sue, live on site and they keep everything in good order.
It's tucked in off Hungate, so it's quiet, but you're only a two minute walk from the centre of town. There's a good selection of shops, pubs, and a little supermarket. The swimming pool is very close, just a few minutes' walk.
The main draw is the location. You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. For a proper day out, you can get the steam train from Pickering station. That's the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. It goes to Whitby.
Whitby is about a 40 minute drive. Scarborough is a bit closer, maybe 30 minutes. Dalby Forest is 15 minutes away for cycling or walking. If you want a big day out, York is about an hour's drive.
For facilities, you've got pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. There's a wood burner and they provide the logs. Parking is right there. Bedding and towels are included. They've got a cot and highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
