The Cottage is in Sinnington, right on the village green. It's a stone semi-detached cottage, very quiet. You get your own enclosed garden.
It's for six people. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but simple. The stairs are fairly steep, like in lots of old cottages.
The Bracken Arms pub is about five minutes walk. It's a proper local and they do food. There's also a micro bakery in the village. A decent farm shop with a tearoom is a short drive away in Beadlam.
For walking, you can get straight onto the paths up into the North York Moors from the door. Pickering is about four miles away, with its castle and the North York Moors Railway. You can get to Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside, or the coast at Scarborough or Whitby in under half an hour by car.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and wi-fi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the drive. I do accept up to two well-behaved dogs.
It can be booked together with the cottage next door, Lilac Cottage, if you're a bigger group.
