The Carrs is in Pickering. It's one of a group of holiday cottages built out of the old outbuildings of a house. There are eight shared gardens and a small enclosed play area. It's quiet.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. It has two bathrooms, which is handy. We can take one dog. The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. It's got character, like beams and stonework.
Pickering town centre is a short walk. There are shops, cafes, and a few pubs. There's a swimming pool a few minutes away. The big draw here is the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. You can walk into town and get the steam train from there.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. Driving north, you're quickly up onto the moors for walking. If you head east, you can be at the coast in well under an hour. North York Moors National Park has good information on walking trails.
For days out, York is about 40 minutes drive. It's a full day out with the Minster, the Shambles, and museums. Whitby, Scarborough, and Robin Hood's Bay are all within a 30 to 45 minute drive for a coastal day. Castle Howard is about half an hour away.
Facilities: There's a wood burning stove with logs provided. The garden is enclosed. There's parking on site. It has WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
