Featherstone Cottage is in Newton on Rawcliffe. It's an old barn conversion from around the 1850s, attached to another house. The village is quiet, has a duck pond, and a local pub about a hundred yards away. They do food.
The place sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a wood burning stove, which is nice in the evenings. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs or kids. We accept up to two pets.
For facilities, it's got the basics covered: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors here. Plenty of walks and cycle tracks start from the door. Pickering is four miles away. It's a proper market town with shops and cafes. You can get the steam railway from there up into the moors, to places like Goathland.
If you drive for about half an hour, you can get to the coast. Whitby is about eighteen miles. Robin Hood's Bay is a bit further on. York is within an hour's drive for a day out.
