Ellerbeck is in Pickering. It's one of a set of cottages around some shared gardens. There's a gate onto the main street, but once you're through it, it's quiet. The front courtyard is yours.
The cottage sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable, not just basic. Someone else's description mentioned low beams and stone arches, which is about right. It's a conversion, so watch your head if you're tall.
You're a few minutes' walk from the centre of Pickering. There are pubs and shops. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway station is there too if you fancy a steam train ride.
The North York Moors are right there for walking. Dalby Forest is about ten minutes by car for cycling. Scarborough is about 25 minutes drive if you want the beach. Whitby is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. York is around 45 minutes away, for the Minster or the railway museum.
As for the place itself, it's got a wood burning stove with some logs provided. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. There's a shared play area in the gardens for kids. Sorry, no pets.
