Eden House Holiday Cottage is a one-bedroom place in Pickering. It sleeps two. It’s Grade II listed, so it’s an old building. We’ve refurbished it, so it’s comfortable but it still has the old features. The stairs are quite steep, which is normal for a place like this.
Downstairs there’s a living room with a wood burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. It opens into a sun room with French doors that lead out to a patio. The patio gets the sun in the afternoon. It looks out over our private walled garden, which you’re welcome to walk through to get to your parking space at the back.
Upstairs is the bedroom with a kingsize bed. It has a vaulted ceiling and an en-suite bathroom with a power shower over the bath.
You’re right in the middle of Pickering. The town centre, with shops, cafes and pubs, is about a two-minute walk. There’s a good local pub about 300 yards away. The North York Moors Railway station is close by too.
For getting out, you’re at the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Dalby Forest is about a 15-minute drive. It’s got miles of trails for walking and cycling. The coast at Whitby or Scarborough is about a 30 to 40-minute drive.
York is about 45 minutes away by car. There’s also Castle Howard, which is roughly half an hour’s drive.
Facilities are all listed. Bedding and towels are included. There’s WiFi and parking on site. No pets, I’m afraid.
