Bank Top Cottage
Bank Top Cottage is in Cropton, about five miles from Pickering. It's a detached bungalow, next to our house but completely private. You get the garden to yourselves, it's quiet and looks out onto fields.
The cottage sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main thing is it's an open plan space, so it's quite big inside for a cottage for two. There's underfloor heating and a woodburning stove.
The pub is about a hundred yards away. It's a good one. The shop is four miles away in Pickering.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. For walking and cycling, Cropton Forest starts practically on the doorstep. The North York Moors National Park website has all the maps and routes.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got loads. Pickering has the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Castle Howard is that way. Flamingo Land is near. The coast at Whitby, Scarborough, or Robin Hood's Bay is about forty minutes away, depending on traffic. York is about the same.
Facilities: there's parking right outside. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. There's bicycle storage if you need it.
