Rosedale is one of the cottages at Hungate in Pickering. It's a terrace cottage set back from the road, so it's quiet. The garden is yours to use and it's enclosed. There's an orchard and shared play area for kids, which is handy if you have them.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, which is useful. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The owners, Mike and Sue, live on site and keep the place clean and warm. They provide logs for the stove.
You're a few minutes' walk from the centre of Pickering. There are shops, pubs that do food, and a swimming pool. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway station is right there in town. It's a steam railway that goes up to Grosmont, through the moors.
You're on the edge of the North York Moors. For walking, you can drive into the national park in about ten minutes. Dalby Forest is close by for cycling or forest walks. The coast is about half an hour's drive. Whitby has the abbey and the harbour, Robin Hood's Bay is a bit further south.
If you want to go further, York is about 45 minutes by car. Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey are within 30 minutes.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. They have a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
