Mill Cottage is in Pickering, in the North York Moors. It's a small, two bedroom place that sleeps four. It's a listed building, so it's old and full of character, but that comes with quirks. The walls aren't perfectly straight and the floors creak a bit. That's just how it is.
It's got one bathroom with a modern shower. There's a woodburning stove in the living room, which is nice in the evenings. The kitchen has what you need to cook. There's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.
The cottage is graded 4 Star. It's clean and comfortable. The doorways and some internal steps mean it's not suitable for all wheelchair users, but the main entrance is level.
Pickering is a good base. There's a shop, a pub, and a few places to eat about a ten minute walk away. The town has a castle and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway station. You can get the steam train from here to Whitby. It's a good day out.
If you drive, you're about half an hour from the coast at Whitby or Scarborough. Dalby Forest is close by for walking and cycling. For a longer day out, you've got North York Moors National Park, Castle Howard, or the Eden Camp museum, all within a 30 minute drive.
