Glaisdale
Glaisdale is in Pickering. It's a cottage in a row, part of the Hungate Cottages. You'll have your own front door.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-kept. The owners, Mike and Sue, live on site and look after the gardens. They're nice.
The cottage is a short walk into the town centre. There are shops, pubs, and a castle. There's a swimming pool about three minutes away. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway starts in Pickering. You can get the steam train to Whitby from here.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. For walking, it's perfect. Dalby Forest is about a fifteen minute drive for cycling and trails. The coast is about forty minutes. Whitby is good, or Robin Hood's Bay. York is about an hour away if you want a city day.
A few other places within half an hour or so: the ruins at Rievaulx Abbey, Castle Howard, and the river at Thornton-le-Dale.
In terms of facilities: there's a woodburning stove with logs provided, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed, and a stairgate. There's parking on the drive.
The garden is shared with the other cottages, but it's big with different sections and an orchard. There's a play area for children with a swing. It's quiet and enclosed.
