The North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train goes from Pickering to Whitby. It's a nice trip. Malton is about twenty minutes by car. They call it a food town, there's a market and some good places to eat.
For days out, Castle Howard is impressive, that's about half an hour's drive. Dalby Forest is good for walking and cycling, and has Go Ape. Flamingoland theme park and zoo is very close, about five minutes in the car. The coast at Scarborough or Filey is roughly a forty minute drive.
The house allows up to two dogs. There's a secure dog exercise field about a ten minute walk away. Most local pubs and cafes are dog friendly.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. There's a stairgate. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
