Hungate Garden Cottage

Hungate Garden Cottage is in Pickering. It's a detached stone cottage in a shared garden area with a few others, but it feels private.

It sleeps ten, which is good for a family group. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. One of the bathrooms and a bedroom is on the ground floor, and there are grab rails and a seat in the shower, so it's suitable if someone has limited mobility. It's got a 4 Star rating. The owners have been doing this a long time and it shows, it's comfortable and well-equipped. The gardens around the cottages are nice. They've won awards.

Pickering itself is a five minute walk. It's a proper market town, not too big. Has a few pubs, a castle, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway station is right there. That's a steam railway that goes through the moors to Whitby. It's popular.

The cottage is ten minutes from the A169, so you're on the edge of the North York Moors straight away. Dalby Forest is a short drive for walking and cycling. The coast at Scarborough or Whitby is about half an hour. York is about 45 minutes. Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey are both within half an hour.

Inside, it's got beams and stonework from the original building. There's a wood burner and they provide logs. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

You can bring one dog. There's parking on site. There's also a kids' play area in the shared gardens.
