Lilac Cottage is in Sinnington village. It's a stone-built semi-detached cottage, one of a pair. You look out onto the village green. It's quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. There's an interconnecting door on the ground floor to the cottage next door if you need to book both.
The local pub is good, about five minutes' walk. There's a small bakery in the village. For a bigger shop, you'll need to drive a few miles to Kirkbymoorside or Pickering.
You can walk straight from the door into the North York Moors. The paths are right there. For a proper day out, the North York Moors National Park website has walking routes. Pickering is about seven miles away. You can get the steam train from there. Helmsley is a bit closer, with a castle and some good shops.
The coast is within an hour. Scarborough, Whitby, Filey are all doable for a day trip. Dalby Forest is about half an hour's drive if you want mountain biking or the Go Ape course.
Facilities wise: it's got a woodburning stove, a TV, an enclosed garden with a patio, parking, and a shower. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
