Fox Cover Cottage is in Great Edstone. It's on a small organic farm. You can see fields and woodland from the garden.
The cottage sleeps five. There are three bedrooms: a double with its own shower, a twin room, and a single. Three bathrooms in total, which is handy. One is a wet room on the ground floor. It was all redone in 2021 so it's clean and works well.
There's an indoor swimming pool on site, shared with other cottages here. Also a hard tennis court, a small gym, and a kids' play area. The garden is enclosed. It's private and you get a table, chairs, and a barbecue. The garden leads straight into woodland where you might see deer.
The farm grows vegetables and soft fruit. You can buy some from the owners if you like. The heating is an unusual wood-burning and solar system.
Helmsley is about six miles away. It's a market town with shops, pubs, and a walled garden. The North York Moors are right there for walking. The steam railway goes through Goathland, which is about a 30 minute drive. The coast takes about 45 minutes to get to. Whitby and Scarborough are the main ones. Robin Hood's Bay is good for beachcombing.
Facilities: there's a wood burner, WiFi, a dishwasher, washing machine, cot, highchair, and stairgate. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is on site.
