Tranmire Cottage is in Lastingham. It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is in the main bedroom.
It’s a 4 Star cottage. It’s got wooden beams and a fireplace in the living room. The stairs are steep, like in most old places. There's underfloor heating. The main bedroom has a freestanding bath in it, with a shower over it.
The garden is shared with the owners, but you’ll have your own space. They keep chickens and have a veg patch. You can collect eggs. They provide some for you anyway, along with a few other bits when you arrive.
The village is small. The church is old and interesting if you like that sort of thing. The pub is good, it’s popular. They serve food and are dog friendly now.
You can walk from the door. There’s a nice walk to Hutton-le-Hole. The market towns nearby are Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering. Pickering is where the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam trains go from, to Whitby.
It’s a luxury property. The facilities include a dishwasher, washing machine, and TV. WiFi is there. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking.
You can bring up to three dogs. They get a welcome hamper with treats and towels. There’s a stairgate. The garden has a low wall, but there’s a paddock next to it with taller fencing where dogs can run.
For planning, the North York Moors National Park site is useful. The coast at Whitby is under 45 minutes away. York is about an hour if you fancy a city day.
