Westwood Cottage is in Wrelton, which is a small village just outside Pickering. It's a semi-detached stone cottage. Sleeps three people. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom downstairs.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. The bathroom being downstairs is the main thing to know. It's under the stairs, so the ceiling is a bit lower in there. It's fine, you just notice it.
The local pub is about twenty yards from the front door. It's a proper village local. They do food. The nearest shop is in Pickering, about a mile and a half away.
Pickering is where you get the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train. It's a good day out and the station is only a few minutes in the car. From there you can go to Grosmont or Whitby.
The North York Moors are right there for walking. Hutton-le-Hole is nearby, that's where the Ryedale Folk Museum is. For the coast, Whitby is about 25 minutes by car. Robin Hood's Bay is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. Scarborough is in the other direction, about 45 minutes.
For history, Rievaulx Abbey isn't far. Castle Howard is about half an hour's drive.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, WiFi, and parking for one car on the gravel area outside. All the bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry. If you need space for more people, we have another cottage next door called Westwood Hideaway. You can book both together.
