This is Ash Garth Cottage, near Little Barugh. It's a barn they converted a while back. It's on its own, with fields and hills around it. Good if you want quiet.
It's for two people, one bedroom and two bathrooms. One bathroom is attached to the bedroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which mostly means everything is in good order and it's well looked after. It's all on one floor, so no stairs.
The main room is open plan with a kitchen area, a table, and the sitting bit. The ceilings are high with beams. There's a wood-burning stove. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine.
Outside there's a patio with a table and chairs, then a garden beyond that. You can see the Hambleton Hills from there. There's parking right by the cottage.
You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included.
The nearest pub is about a mile down the road in Great Barugh. For a shop, you'd drive to Malton, which is about five miles.
You're on the edge of the North York Moors here. For a day out, a lot of people go on the steam train from Pickering to Whitby. Whitby itself is about 25 miles away for the coast. York is about the same distance the other way, maybe half an hour in the car. The National Trust has a few places nearby, like Nunnington Hall.
If you're booking around Christmas, they put a tree up.
