Kate's Cottage

Kate's Cottage is a mid-terrace stone cottage in Slingsby. It's on the Castle Howard estate. It's just for two people, one bedroom upstairs. You get the little courtyard garden at the back.

It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. Downstairs is one open room. Stone floors, beams, a wood burner. There's a kitchen area with a Belfast sink and a breakfast bar. The stairs are a bit steep and go straight up into the bedroom. That's just how these old cottages are.

The bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath. There's underfloor heating in there, which is nice. The courtyard gets the sun in the afternoon. It's enclosed and sheltered.

The village pub is about three minutes walk. They do food and have events sometimes. Castle Howard itself is a short drive. It's a big stately home with house tours, gardens, and farm shops. It's been used for filming quite a bit.

You're right in the Howardian Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Good for walking and cycling. The market towns of Malton and Helmsley are about ten minutes drive either way. York is about twenty minutes away if you want a day in the city. Flamingo Land theme park is nearby too.

In terms of what's here, it has parking, WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and the bed linen and towels are included. Up to two dogs are welcome. There's bicycle storage if you need it.
