Kate's Cottage is in Slingsby. It's a mid-terrace stone cottage on the Castle Howard estate, between Malton and Helmsley.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. The rating means it's comfortable and well looked after.
Downstairs is all open plan. Stone floors, beams, a wood burner. The kitchen has a Belfast sink and granite tops. There's a breakfast bar.
The stairs are behind a door. They go straight up into the bedroom. The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a roll top bath and underfloor heating.
Out the back is a small, enclosed courtyard. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
The local pub is about a three minute walk. They do food and have beer festivals.
Castle Howard is very close. It's a big stately home where they filmed 'Brid eshead Revisited' and 'Victoria'. You can spend a day there. Their Christmas event is good. Other places like Nunnington Hall and Duncombe Park are nearby too.
It's a good spot for walking and cycling. The Howardian Hills are right there. The market towns of Malton and Helmsley are a few minutes' drive. York is about twenty minutes away.
For facilities, you've got the wood burner, a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. It's fine to bring up to two dogs.
