Sunny Cottage is in Welburn, in the Howardian Hills. It's a stone cottage from the 1700s, detached, so it's just you and the garden.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rating is 5 Star, so everything is in good order. It's been updated inside but it's still an old cottage. The walls are thick and the floors aren't level, which is normal for a place this age.
The garden is at the back, tucked away. There's a terrace and a little old summerhouse. It's a quiet spot.
The village pub is a couple of minutes' walk away, and they do food. There's also a good village shop and cafe.
Castle Howard is basically down the road, about five minutes by car. It's a big stately home with grounds you can walk around. They run events and have a farm shop. Castle Howard.
You can walk straight from the cottage onto local paths. Dalby Forest is nearby if you're into mountain biking. The North York Moors are about a twenty minute drive east. Pickering and the steam railway are about fifteen minutes away, and that line goes up to Whitby.
York is about half an hour by car. It's an easy day out.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
