Sunny Cottage

Sunny Cottage is a detached stone cottage in Welburn. It's small, but it's all yours.

It's from the 1700s, so mind your head on the beams upstairs. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It sleeps four. It's got a 5 Star rating, which really just means everything's been done to a high standard. It's comfortable.

The garden is enclosed and private. There's a flagstone terrace, some seating, and an old summerhouse at the end. It's a nice spot in the sun.

The village pub is a couple of minutes' walk away. They do food. There's also a good village shop and bakery about a mile away.

Castle Howard is basically on your doorstep, about five minutes in the car. It's a big stately home with grounds to walk in. The estate farm shop is very good. Castle Howard.

You're in the Howardian Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are walking trails right from the door. For a bigger day out, the North York Moors are about half an hour's drive. Dalby Forest is good for cycling.

York is about 25 minutes by car. It's an easy day trip. Malton, which is a market town they call a food capital, is ten minutes away.

For a day at the coast, Scarborough or Filey are about 45 minutes. The North York Moors Railway runs from Pickering to Whitby, which is a nice thing to do. North York Moors Railway.

Facilities wise: there's a parking space, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
