Wandale Barn
Wandale Barn is in Slingsby, between the villages of Hovingham and Malton. It's a converted stone barn, detached. It's in a field, on its own.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It has a 5 Star Gold rating, which means it's well-finished and everything works properly. It's spacious inside.
You're about a mile and a half from the nearest pub and shop. The Lion Inn in Slingsby is the local. Hovingham has a bakery and a pub, and Malton has supermarkets.
You're right in the Howardian Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are a lot of footpaths and quiet lanes from the door. For a bigger walk, the North York Moors National Park is about twenty minutes' drive east.
Castle Howard is very close, maybe five minutes by car. It's good for a day out, with the house, gardens, and a farm shop. Nunnington Hall and Rievaulx Abbey are within half an hour.
Helmsley is a nice market town, about twenty minutes away. Pickering is similar, and that's where the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train runs from, up to Whitby. York is roughly forty minutes' drive if you fancy a city day.
For facilities, it's got everything on the list. Woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, TV. Enclosed garden with a patio and a barbecue. Parking for a few cars right outside. You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included.
