Westfield Farm

Westfield Farm is in Little Barugh, a small village just outside Malton. It's a detached stone farmhouse, very old. Grade II listed, from 1695.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well kept. The owners have filled it with antiques and family paintings. It feels like a proper old house.

The kitchen has a range cooker and a pantry. Part of the worktop and sink can be lowered if someone in your group uses a wheelchair. There's a utility area too.

Downstairs, there's a dining room with a low beamed ceiling and the original cooking range. The living room is big, has a wood burner, and looks out the front. There's an antique games table.

There's a ground floor bedroom with an en-suite wet room, and it has its own spiral staircase up to a private mezzanine sitting area. The other three bedrooms are on the first floor, two with en-suites. One of those is up its own private staircase.

Just so you know, the stairs are as you'd expect in a house this old. Some are steep, some are spiral, some are narrow. They're fine, but you need to pay attention.

The garden is enclosed, with seating. It looks over the village green and fields.

Malton is a few miles away for shops and cafes. The North York Moors National Park is a short drive for walking. York is about half an hour away. The coast, like Whitby and Scarborough, is about 45 minutes to an hour's drive. Castle Howard is very close, maybe 15 minutes.

Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed. There's a pub in the village.
