Westfield Farm

Westfield Farm is in Little Barugh, which is a small village in North Yorkshire. It's a detached stone farmhouse from 1695, Grade II listed. You'll see it's a proper old building as soon as you pull up.

It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, and there are four bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's been done to a high standard, but it's not a show home. It's a family place. It's been in my family a long time. A lot of the paintings are my grandfather's work.

The kitchen is big and has a range cooker. There's a pantry and a utility area. A section of the worktop lowers with a button for wheelchair access.

The dining room has low beams and the original Victorian cooking range. The living room is split into two areas, with a wood burner at one end. There's an old games table in there.

There's a king-size bedroom on the ground floor with a large wet room en-suite. It has a spiral staircase up to a small mezzanine with a sofa and TV. The other three bedrooms are upstairs. Two have en-suites. The fourth bedroom has its own private staircase.

The garden is enclosed but not huge. It has some seating and looks out over the village green and fields.

The village itself is quiet. There's a local pub. Malton, a market town, is a few miles away for shops. The North York Moors National Park is a short drive for walking. Castle Howard is nearby. York, Whitby, and Scarborough are all within about an hour's drive for a day out.

Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. The property has some accessible features like the adjustable kitchen worktop and grab rails. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
