Rinstone Lodge
Rinstone Lodge is in Thornton le Dale. It's on the edge of the village, so it's quiet, but you're only a minute's walk from the shop and the pubs. The garden is enclosed and private. It has a hot tub.
The cottage is all on one level. It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One has a kingsize bed, the other a double. There's one bathroom with a large, walk-in shower. It's a 5 Star property, so it's well-finished and has everything you'd expect.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen, dining, and living area all together. It has a wood burner, which is nice in the evening. The ceilings are high with some exposed beams. There's underfloor heating.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. For a walk from the door, you can be on the moors in ten minutes. The village itself is very pretty, with the stream and the thatched cottages.
Pickering is two miles away. That's where you get the North York Moors Railway. You can get the steam train to Grosmont or Whitby. Whitby is about twenty miles. Scarborough is fifteen.
Dalby Forest is a ten minute drive. Good for cycling and walking. They have a Go Ape there. Flamingo Land is about the same distance.
York is twenty-six miles. It's an easy drive for a day out. Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey are both within half an hour.
In terms of facilities, it has parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's an electric vehicle charger. No pets, sorry.
