Danbydale

This is Danbydale, in Pickering. It's one of a few cottages here at Hungate, converted from old stone outbuildings. You're right in the town but it feels quiet once you're through the gate into the gardens.

It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, both en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is warm and clean, with things like WiFi and a dishwasher. There's a wood burner and they provide the logs.

The gardens are shared with the other cottages. They're nice, quite secluded with fruit trees. There's a little play area for children with a swing and a playhouse.

You can walk into Pickering in a few minutes. There are shops, pubs that do food, and a castle. The outdoor swimming pool is about three minutes away on foot. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway station is in the town too.

You're on the edge of the North York Moors. For a drive, Whitby is about half an hour away. The coast at Scarborough is roughly 25 minutes. York is about 40 minutes by car.

If you like walking or cycling, Dalby Forest is close. It's about a 15 minute drive. The North York Moors National Park site has good information. For historic houses, Castle Howard is 20 minutes away, and the English Heritage page lists others like Rievaulx Abbey.

Included: all bedding and towels, parking right outside, a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
