Danbydale is one of Hungate Cottages in Pickering. It's in a row of cottages converted from old outbuildings, set back from the road behind a big black gate. The main thing is the gardens. There are several shared gardens and courtyards, and they're very quiet and well looked after. It feels quite sheltered in there.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The owners, Mike and Sue, live on site and are helpful if you need anything.
You're about a five minute walk from the centre of Pickering. There are shops, pubs, and a castle. The swimming pool is very close, about three minutes on foot. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway station is in the town too.
For days out, you're right on the edge of the North York Moors. Dalby Forest is about a ten minute drive for walking and cycling. The coast at Whitby or Scarborough is roughly half an hour by car. York is about forty minutes away if you fancy the city.
In terms of what's here: there's a woodburning stove with free logs, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site. There's a shared play area for children in the gardens. Sorry, no pets.
