Bransdale
This is Bransdale in Pickering. It's one of the Hungate Cottages, which are converted stone outbuildings arranged around a big shared garden. You get your own little patio garden too.
It sleeps four. It's got two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's kept warm and clean. You can bring one dog.
The cottage is just off the main street. You're out of the town centre in about two minutes on foot. The local pub is close. The swimming pool is a three minute walk.
Pickering is a good base. The North York Moors Railway starts here, which is a big steam train line that goes right across the moors to Whitby. For walking, you can get onto the moors from here easily. Dalby Forest is about eight miles away, good for cycling.
For a day out, Whitby is about 25 miles. Scarborough is 17 miles. York is 26 miles. Castle Howard is nine miles. Rievaulx Abbey is nice if you like ruins, about 12 miles.
Inside, there's a wood burning stove with logs provided. It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. There's on site parking. It's set up for families with a cot, highchair and a stairgate. Outside in the shared garden there's a play area for kids with a swing and a Wendy house.
