Shaws Cottage
Shaws Cottage is in Thornton le Dale. It's a detached house on a quiet lane near the centre of the village. You've got your own garden and parking.
It sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but not a show home. The living room has a woodburning stove and doors out to the garden.
The village has a couple of pubs and a restaurant about 200 yards away. There's a shop a bit further up. They're all perfectly good.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. For walking, you can just start from the door. The North York Moors National Park website has good routes: North York Moors National Park.
Within about half an hour's drive, you've got Pickering with the steam railway. Whitby and Scarborough are on the coast. Goathland, which is the Heartbeat village, is up on the moors too. If you're interested in the wartime museum, Eden Camp is near Malton.
What's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, towels and bedding are included, and there's a cot. You can bring up to two dogs.
