Shaws Cottage
Shaws Cottage is in Thornton le Dale, right in the village. It's a detached house. The garden is private and enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs or kids.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's clean and well-equipped but not a show home. It's spacious. The hall is bigger than you'd expect when you walk in.
The living room has French doors out to the garden and a window seat. There's a woodburning stove. We leave you some logs to get started.
You're a few minutes' walk from the village shop, a couple of pubs, and a restaurant. The park with the stream and the ducks is just down the lane.
For days out, you're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The coast is about half an hour's drive. Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, and Scarborough are all that sort of distance. You can get a steam train from Pickering on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. Parking is on the drive for two cars. You can bring up to two dogs.
