Box Tree Cottage is in Pickering, right on the edge of town. It’s a stone-built end terrace cottage. It sleeps six, three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one ensuite. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
The garden is enclosed and south facing, so it gets the sun most of the day. There’s a patio and a wooden gazebo with seating. The back door from the kitchen leads straight out there. Inside, the kitchen is big with a wooden island. It’s well equipped. The living room has glass doors that open onto the garden and a wood burner. There’s a downstairs toilet and a cupboard for coats and boots.
Upstairs, the main bedroom is a king size with an ensuite shower. There’s a double room and a twin room. The family bathroom has a bath and a separate shower. The stairs are typical old cottage stairs. They’re fine, but they’re not shallow.
You’re about a two minute walk from the centre of Pickering. It’s a proper market town. There’s a good mix of shops, pubs and places to eat. The castle is worth a look. From the station here, you can get the steam train across the moors to Whitby. It’s a good day out.
