This place is Cherry Blossom. It's in Thornton le Dale, a little village in North Yorkshire. The cottage is one of three in the grounds of our house, Cherry Garth. It's stone-built.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished. There's an open plan living area with a wood burner. You get a welcome pack with tea and coffee when you arrive. The main window looks over the garden, and the bedroom looks onto a paddock with sheep.
Thornton le Dale is pretty. It's on the edge of the North York Moors, about a mile from Pickering. You can walk a lot of footpaths straight from the door. The local pub is a couple of minutes' walk away.
From Pickering, you can get the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train. It goes to Grosmont, Goathland, and Whitby. Whitby's about a 40-minute drive. It's good for fish and chips and the abbey.
Scarborough is half an hour by car. The Castle Howard estate is about a 20-minute drive. York is around 45 minutes away if you want a city day.
Facilities include the wood burner, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and an enclosed patio garden with a barbecue. There's bike storage. WiFi and TV are included. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Bedding and towels are provided.
