Foston Grange Cottage
Foston Grange Cottage is on our farm near Foston. It's a Georgian cottage, so the rooms are big and the ceilings are high. You get here down a half-mile farm track. It's not tarmacked, so take it steady.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, but they're all doubles. One bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There are wood floors in the living room and dining room.
You're on a working farm. We've got arable land and livestock. The cottage is next to our farmhouse. You'll see us and the animals coming and going. The views are over fields towards the Howardian Hills.
For a shop you'll need to drive about seven miles. The closest pub and restaurant is about three miles away in Whitwell-on-the-Hill.
Castle Howard is just over three miles from here. They do events and have a good cafe and farm shop. York is about twelve miles away. You can drive in or sometimes get the Park and Ride from Poppleton.
If you walk, there are footpaths right from the gate. You're on the edge of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Dalby Forest is about a half hour drive for walking or cycling. The coast at Scarborough or Whitby is about an hour.
In the cottage you've got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, sorry.
