Morning Mist is on our farm at the edge of Strensall Common. It's a converted shepherd's hut. It's detached, so it's just you out there.
It sleeps two in one bedroom. There's one bathroom, but it's separate. It's its own little hut a few steps from the main door. It's got a good shower.
The bed is a king size. It's on a raised platform so you get a view out over the fields. The living space is all one room with a wood burner. The kitchen area is small but has what you need. There's an enclosed patio with a wood-fired hot tub. It takes a while to heat up.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see tractors and sometimes hear animals. The village is about a mile away. It has a shop and two pubs that do food.
York is about eight miles. You can drive in, or there's a bus. The park and ride is easier. The Minster and the National Railway Museum are the big ones. Jorvik is popular.
Castle Howard is about a twenty minute drive. The North York Moors are maybe forty minutes. Places like Helmsley or Malton are good for a wander and something to eat. The coast at Whitby is about an hour.
Facilities include the hot tub, the wood burner, and parking right next to the hut. There's an electric vehicle charger. We provide bedding and towels. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
