Little Barn
Little Barn is about two miles outside York city centre. It's one of a few old farm buildings around a big courtyard. You're down a private drive, so it feels like you're out in the fields, but you can be in town in ten minutes.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been renovated but it's a proper old barn, so the ceilings are high and the rooms are big. There are a couple of steps here and there.
The local pub is 200 yards up the lane. It's handy. For shopping you'd need to drive a mile or so.
York itself is the main thing. You can walk the city walls, see the Minster, all of that. The National Railway Museum is free and good for an hour or two. The Jorvik Viking Centre is popular. It's all very walkable once you're there. Parking in town can be a pain, so we usually drive to a park and ride.
If you want to get out further, Castle Howard is about a twenty minute drive. The North Yorkshire Moors aren't far either. You can get the steam train from Pickering if that's your sort of thing. The coast at Whitby or Scarborough is about an hour.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.
