The Hayloft is part of an old farm about two miles from York city centre. It's a converted 18th century building around a big courtyard, so you're out in the fields but you can get into town easily. The private drive is about 200 yards long.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. The space is good, it's been renovated so it's not draughty, but it's still an old farm building. The ceilings are beamed.
There's a local pub about 200 yards away. A shop is a mile. The city centre is a short drive or you can get the bus. York's got everything: the Minster, the walls, the Shambles. The National Railway Museum is good even if you're not that into trains. The Jorvik Viking Centre is popular. It's mostly just nice to walk around the streets and by the river.
For days out, Castle Howard is about 10 miles away. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Pickering is 25 miles. If you fancy the coast, Whitby is about 45 miles, Scarborough and Filey are about 40.
On site there's a shared games room in one of the other farm buildings. You get your own garden and patio area with a BBQ. Parking is right there.
Facilities: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
