Daisy Cottage is in Strensall, just north of York. It's a single-storey place, so all on one level. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating which means it's well looked after.
The main thing is it's new. It was built as a holiday let, so it's got things like underfloor heating, an open plan layout, and a wood burner. There's a sound system built into the ceiling. The windows are electric Velux ones. It's all very straightforward and modern.
Outside, there's a deck with a hot tub. It's for six people, so there's room. The garden is enclosed.
Strensall is a village. There are a couple of pubs, shops, and a good fish and chip shop. The River Foss runs through it. Strensall Common is right there. It's a big area run by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, good for walks and seeing birds.
York is about seven miles south. You can get a bus from the village or drive in about 15 minutes. It's a proper city with the Minster, the walls, the Viking place, the Railway Museum. Lots of pubs and restaurants. The racecourse is there too.
If you want to drive out, Castle Howard and Beningbrough Hall are both within half an hour. The North York Moors are about a 40 minute drive. Pickering is where the steam train to Whitby goes from. The coast at Scarborough or Filey is about an hour away.
Facilities: it's got parking, WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
