The Granary
The Granary is on the outskirts of York, about two miles from the centre. It's a detached stone building that used to be part of a farm. You're down a private drive, so it's quiet, with fields around. The courtyard is shared with a couple of other cottages, but you have your own space.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
You can walk to the local pub in a few minutes. It's a proper village pub. For anything bigger, there's a shop about a mile away.
Getting into York is easy. You can drive and park at one of the park and rides, or get a bus from nearby. It means you can see the Minster and the walls, then come back to the countryside. The National Railway Museum is good, even if you're not that into trains.
If you want to go further out, the coast at Whitby or Scarborough is about an hour's drive. The North York Moors are a bit closer. Castle Howard is about half an hour away.
What’s here: there's a garden with a patio and a BBQ, a dishwasher and washing machine, parking right outside, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
