Cozy Cottage
Cozy Cottage is at Holtby Grange, just outside Holtby village. It's five miles from York city centre. It's a barn conversion, one of five cottages around a courtyard.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's all on the ground floor.
You come in through the courtyard, which has a koi pond and some hedges. You go straight into the main living space, which is all open plan. There's a wood burner, a vaulted ceiling, and a brick wall. The kitchen has granite worktops and decent appliances. The bed is a zip-and-link, so you can have it as twins or a double. The mattress is good.
Outside, there's a large garden that's shared between all the cottages. It's enclosed. There's a fenced pond, some paths, a summerhouse, and a wooded bit. You can park two cars and store bikes.
The local shop is two miles away. There's a pub a mile away, and a restaurant four miles off.
York is the main draw. It's about a ten-minute drive. You've got the Minster, the Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre, and all the shops and cafes. York Minster and the National Railway Museum are both worth a visit.
If you want to go further, Harrogate is about 21 miles, Thirsk is 31, and Scarborough is 44. All are doable for a day trip.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and the wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. On-site parking. No pets.
