Field View Cottage
This is Field View Cottage. It's out near Holtby, down a long private drive, so it's quiet. You're about five miles from the centre of York, which is handy.
It's a semi-detached place, the biggest of five cottages set around a courtyard. We live on site too, in the main house. The cottage itself sleeps six, with three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is useful.
It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished. The main room is open plan, kitchen, dining and living area together. There's a wood burner, vaulted ceiling, and the kitchen has granite worktops and a Belfast sink. The stairs are a standard staircase, not steep like some older cottages.
Outside, there's a large enclosed garden that's shared between all the cottages. It's got paths, a wooded bit, a summerhouse, and a fenced-off pond. The courtyard has a koi pond and some shared seating.
A local pub is about a mile away. The nearest shop is two miles. There's a restaurant about four miles away.
York is the main draw, only about a ten minute drive. You've got the Minster, the National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre, and all the shops and cafes. Further out, you can get to Harrogate in under an hour, or out to the coast at Scarborough in about an hour and a quarter.
In terms of what's here: there's parking, wifi, a TV, a dishwasher, washing machine, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
