Priestley House is on Bootham, which is the main road going into York. It's a maisonette, so your front door is on the first floor. You have the whole top two floors to yourselves. The building is 19th century and you're right by the city walls.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one main bathroom and an en-suite shower off the biggest bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We had it all refurbished a few years ago so it's in good order.
The location is the main thing. You can walk into the centre of York in a few minutes. You can see the Minster from the windows. There's a small private balcony that looks out over the Museum Gardens.
The stairs inside are fine, but you should know the entrance is up a flight of external stone steps from the street. It's not a problem for most people, but it's something to be aware of if you have mobility issues.
It's got everything you'd expect: wifi, a washing machine, all the bedding and towels are included. There's on-street parking with a permit we provide.
You're already in York so you just walk out the door, but if you want to drive out, the North York Moors are about half an hour away. The coast at Scarborough is about 40 minutes.
