Jorvik- Woodsmill Quay
Jorvik is in a converted timber mill right on the River Ouse in York. It's on the south bank, near Queen's Staithe, which is still a working quay. You're only a few minutes' walk from the centre.
It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. The main thing is the view from the living area; you look straight out over the river. You see boats going up and down, people walking on the path opposite. It's always changing.
The mill conversion was done around the year 2000. The apartments are modern inside. It's comfortable. We put a tree and decorations up if you're staying over Christmas.
You've got parking on site, which is useful in York. There's also bicycle storage. Other things: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and towels and bedding are included. There's a walk-in shower with grab rails.
A local pub is about 50 yards away. Shops are about the same distance. For days out, everything in York is on your doorstep. The Minster, the Shambles, the Jorvik Centre, it's all a short walk.
If you want to drive, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are within reach. The coast at Filey, Scarborough, or Whitby is about an hour.
