The Green is a cottage on the outskirts of York. It’s detached, so no neighbours sharing a wall. You’re about two miles from the city centre. There’s a bus stop nearby if you don’t want to drive in.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite to the main bedroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. That means it’s well looked after, comfortable. It’s been renovated, so the kitchen is modern and there’s an open plan living area.
There’s a patio garden with a table and chairs, and a BBQ if the weather's good. It’s a quiet spot, you’re not right in the middle of things.
For York itself, you can walk the walls, see the Minster, or go to the Railway Museum. The Jorvik Centre is popular if you want to see the Viking history. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants. Betty’s Tea Rooms is famous, but you’ll likely queue.
If you want to get out of the city, the North York Moors are about a 40 minute drive. The coast at Scarborough or Whitby is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. The National Trust and Yorkshire Dales National Park sites are useful if you’re planning walks.
Facilities: there’s a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
