The Little House is on Bishopthorpe Road in York. People call the area the Notting Hill of the North. It's a terrace of Victorian houses with lots of cafes and small shops. The house really is very small. It used to be a doctor's surgery for the house next door, which is where I live.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well-kept and comfortable. It sleeps two people in one bedroom. There's one bathroom with a shower. The stairs are quite narrow. You won't be doing any cartwheels in the living room, but it has everything you need.
You're about a fifteen minute walk from the city walls and the centre of York. You can see the Minster from the end of the street. Rowntree Park is even closer, just a few minutes away. It's a good spot by the river.
For planning days out, the English Heritage and National Trust sites are useful. Castle Howard and Beningbrough Hall are both within about half an hour's drive. The coast at Scarborough or Whitby is just over an hour away.
In terms of what's here, there's a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher, and all the bedding and towels are included. The electricity is part of the price. There is no parking with the house, but there is on-street parking which you pay for. No pets, sorry.
