It's called Big Barn. It's an old farm building from the 1700s, but it's been done up. You're out in the fields near York, about two miles from the city centre. You get to it down a private drive.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's not a hotel, but it's comfortable and well looked after.
The barn is part of a group of buildings around a big courtyard. You get your own place and garden. It feels properly in the countryside, but York is right there when you want it.
In York, you've got the Minster, the city walls, and all the history. The National Railway Museum is good if you like trains. There are lots of shops and places to eat on the cobbled streets.
Locally, there's a pub about 200 yards away. The shop is a mile. If you need a washing machine, dishwasher, that sort of thing, it's all there. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. No pets, I'm afraid.
For days out, Castle Howard is about ten miles away. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway starts at Pickering, which is 25 miles. The coast at Whitby or Scarborough is about 40 to 45 miles.
