Rose Cottage is in Strensall, North Yorkshire. It's a single-storey cottage, so everything is on the ground floor. There's a ramp for the entrance and a good wet room inside, which makes it suitable if you have mobility issues.
It sleeps four people in two bedrooms: one twin and one kingsize. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main living area is open plan with a high ceiling, so it feels quite spacious. The kitchen is new and has everything you need.
Outside there's a decking area with a four-person hot tub. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing a dog. You can bring one dog.
Strensall itself is a village. There are a few pubs, a couple of shops, a post office, and a fish and chip shop. It's on the River Foss. York Golf Club is right nearby. Strensall Common is a big wildlife area, good for a walk. It's managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
York is about seven miles away. You can get a bus from the village. York has the Minster, the Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre, and the city walls. There are plenty of places to eat and drink.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got Castle Howard and Beningbrough Hall, which is National Trust. The market towns of Easingwold and Helmsley are nice. The North York Moors aren't far, and you can get the steam train from Pickering to Whitby.
Scarborough and Filey on the coast are also easy to get to for a day out.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking. We can provide a cot and a highchair.
