Sunflower Cottage is in Strensall, which is just north of York. It's all on one floor, which is handy. There are two bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with a kingsize. It sleeps four.
It's a new build, so everything works properly. There's underfloor heating and a wood burner if you want a fire. The doors open out onto a decked area with a hot tub.
In the village, there's a Co-op for basics, a post office, and a couple of pubs. The bus into York stops on the main road and takes about 25 minutes. Driving in takes 20, depending on traffic.
York is the main draw, obviously. You've got the Minster, the Jorvik Centre, the Railway Museum, and the walls. It's all walkable once you're there.
Out this way, Strensall Common is good for a walk. It's a big heathland area managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. The York Golf Club is right next to it.
If you drive, Castle Howard is about half an hour away. The North York Moors are a similar distance. The coast at Scarborough or Filey is about 45 minutes.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets.
