1 Kirkby Cottages is on the Main Street in Sheriff Hutton. It's semi-detached. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. It faces south, so it gets the sun.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One's an ensuite to the main room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and modern inside. Everything works.
The pub is basically around the corner, about fifty yards. They do food. There's a village shop and post office directly opposite the cottage. It's handy.
You can see the old castle from the back bedroom window. It's ruins now. English Heritage has info on Richard III if you're interested in that history.
York is about nine miles away. The drive's straightforward. Malton's about seven miles the other way, that's a foodie town. Castle Howard is very close, maybe ten minutes by car. It's a proper day out.
If you like walking, you're on the edge of the Howardian Hills. There are footpaths from the village. The North York Moors and the coast at places like Whitby are about an hour's drive.
Facilities: it has parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
