This is 1 Kirkby Cottages in Sheriff Hutton. It's one of a pair of semi-detached houses on the edge of the village. You get the whole house and garden to yourselves.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is en-suite to the main bedroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The open plan living area has patio doors that open onto the garden. There's underfloor heating downstairs, which is good in winter.
The garden is south-facing and enclosed, so it gets the sun and it's safe for dogs. There's parking for a car.
The village is quiet. The local pub is about 50 yards away, they do food. There's a village shop and post office right opposite. You can see the ruins of Sheriff Hutton Castle from the main bedroom window. There's a bus stop next to the property with services to York and Malton.
You're about 15 minutes' drive from York. Castle Howard is very close, maybe a 10 minute drive. It's a big historic house with grounds and events. Castle Howard has their own website for tickets. The Howardian Hills are right here for walking. The North York Moors and the coast at places like Whitby are within an hour.
For facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's storage for bicycles if you're bringing them.
