Thompsons Arms Cottages No2

Thompsons Arms Cottage No2 is in Flaxton. It's next to the pub, the Thompsons Arms, which I run. The cottage is for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom.

It's got a 4 Star rating. It means it's comfortable and well looked after. Everything is on one level. The layout is open plan.

The pub is right there, about twenty five yards from your front door. We're a proper village pub, food is served. There's a restaurant a mile away in Strensall if you want something different.

York is eight miles away. You can drive in or get the bus from the village. It has everything: the Minster, the Shambles, the Railway Museum. The walls are good for a walk.

Castle Howard is about ten miles. It's a big stately home. The Howardian Hills are good for walking and cycling. Byland Abbey and Rievaulx Abbey are both within a twenty minute drive. The market towns of Easingwold and Helmsley are worth a visit.

For a day out, you can drive to Pickering in half an hour and get the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train to Whitby.

The cottage has a small courtyard garden with a BBQ. Parking is private. There's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
