Wisteria Cottage is in Buttercrambe, about fifteen minutes' drive outside York. It's a single-storey place made from old farm buildings, so it's all on the ground floor. The brickwork and beams inside are the original ones.
It sleeps two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. Because it's all on one level and has a walk-in shower, it's suitable if you have limited mobility.
The cottage is in our garden. It's quiet and private. There's a south-facing patio that gets the sun. You can sit out there and watch our sheep, chickens, and Shetland ponies in the paddock next door.
A shop, pub, and restaurant are about two and a half miles away in the next village. For a city day out, you can drive to the Grimston Park and Ride and get the bus into York. It's about ten minutes in the car to get there. York is good for the Minster, the museums, and just walking around.
If you want to go walking or cycling, the Howardian Hills and the Yorkshire Wolds are right nearby. Castle Howard is about twenty minutes away. The coast at Bridlington or Scarborough is under an hour's drive. The North York Moors are about the same.
In terms of what's here: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you need it. Parking is right outside. You can bring one dog.
