Rusty's Cottage is in Buttercrambe, near the River Derwent. It's one of a few converted farm buildings in our garden, so it's single-storey and everything's on the ground floor. It's detached and private, with its own patio that gets the sun.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, with the original brickwork and beams left exposed.
The patio looks south over a paddock. We've got some pet sheep, chickens, and Shetland ponies that graze there. You can watch them from the garden.
There's a shop and a pub in the next village, about two and a half miles away. York is easy to get to. The Grimston park and ride is a ten minute drive, then you can get the bus into the city centre.
For walking, you've got the Yorkshire Wolds and the Howardian Hills right here. Castle Howard is about a twenty minute drive. The coast - places like Scarborough and Whitby - and the North York Moors are all within an hour's drive.
It's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
