Bluebell Barn
Bluebell Barn is in Dunnington, about four miles from York. It's a single-storey barn conversion, so everything's on the ground floor. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own ensuite, which is handy.
It's been done up, but they kept the big beams and the roof trusses. The main room is open plan with polished concrete floors. Gets a lot of light. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.
The garden's a good size with a patio and some furniture. You're right on the edge of Hagg Wood, so you can walk straight into the trees from the garden gate.
There's a pub and a restaurant about three quarters of a mile away. The local shop is a mile. The cycle route goes past nearby if you bring bikes.
York is the main thing. You can get the bus, or drive to the Grimston Bar park and ride which is easy. The usual things are there: the Minster, the Railway Museum, Jorvik, the walls. The Clifford's Tower is English Heritage.
Further out, you've got places like the Yorkshire Air Museum. The North York Moors are about a 45 minute drive. The coast at Bridlington, Filey or Scarborough is about an hour.
